6mm Heavy-Duty Self-Smoothing Polyurethane Flooring System with Epoxy Mortar Moisture Barrier
A heavy-duty polyurethane flooring system was installed within the production area of a bakery and food manufacturing facility to provide a durable, seamless, and hygienic flooring solution suitable for demanding food production operations.
Prior to the polyurethane application, a 5mm thick epoxy mortar system was installed to provide floor levelling and moisture barrier protection. This layer helps create a stable and uniform substrate while reducing the risk of moisture-related issues affecting the final flooring system.
Following the preparation and moisture barrier works, a 6mm thick heavy-duty self-smoothing polyurethane flooring system was applied across approximately 2,750m² to create a seamless, durable, and easy-to-clean finish.
The completed flooring system provides excellent resistance to abrasion, impact, chemicals, moisture, and heavy operational loads. Its seamless construction supports effective cleaning and hygiene management, making it particularly suitable for bakery and food production environments where cleanliness and long-term floor performance are essential.
The combination of epoxy mortar levelling, moisture barrier protection, and heavy-duty polyurethane flooring provides a robust and long-lasting flooring solution capable of supporting continuous food manufacturing operations.
